Q. How to open a dock leveler?
A.First, ensure the truck is safely parked and positioned in the center of the dock. Hydraulic models can operate by using a control panel or button to raise the leveler to the preferred height. In mechanical models, one has to pull on the manual lever or handle that raises the leveler. Extend the lip as much as possible so it will meet and fasten into the truck bed while making sure that everything aligns and stabilizes for loading or unloading. Air-fisted models work by inflating air bags to lift the dock leveler, adjusting it to the truck or trailer height for easier loading and unloading. Upon securing the leveler, stretch the lip and clamp it onto the truck bed; then, ensure that all parts are aligned to be okay for either loading or unloading. Finally, when done, retract by following the reverse steps.
