Q. How does the clamping unit in horizontal molding machines function
A.The locking mechanism of horizontal injection molding equipment holds the mold parts together as plastic enters the cavity. This device keeps the halves from separating under intense pressure when melted plastic flows inside. A stationary section plus a movable portion make up the mechanism, which opens and closes through mechanical or hydraulic power. The force needed to lock the mold equals or surpasses the pressure of injection. Once plastic cools and hardens, the mechanism releases its grip so the new piece can come out. In addition the device adapts to different mold dimensions and includes tools like core extractors for intricate products. A tight seal results in exact measurements, blocks material from escaping and produces uniform items. Three varieties of locking systems exist: mechanical toggle, fluid powered along with electromagnetic. But toggle designs cost less than others. The fluid systems give users better command of compression power. The electromagnetic versions measure force instantly and need no upkeep.
