A.The injection molding process for creating molded plastic items involves five main phases. A clamping unit connects both sides of the mold together under pressure. During the next stage heat turns plastic pellets into liquid form before machinery pushes this material through openings in the mold. The third phase applies steady force against the liquid plastic to keep it from moving backward as temperature changes make it contract. In the fourth phase the material becomes hard and takes its intended form. At last the equipment opens up and releases the finished product through mechanical pins or bursts of air. From start to finish this sequence takes between half a minute to one and a half minutes resulting in matching pieces that serve multiple purposes.
